The town of McAllen, Texas is quickly becoming a destination for Liga MX teams. Back in January, CONCACAF announced that due to political unrest in Honduras, the match between Motagua and Club Tijuana would be moved to H-E-B Park in the south Texas town about half an hour north of the border. Today, Club Santos Laguna announced via a press release that they’d be heading there to face off against Chivas in a friendly on March 21.
Santos last visited McAllen in 2012, however they’ve been to the Lone Star State often over the past few years to play friendlies as well as do community service projects.
