If you turned away from the television for, say, three minutes during Southampton's match against Aston Villa on Saturday morning, you may have missed the fastest hat trick in Premier League history.
In a first half that saw the Saints bury Aston Villa, Sadio Mane scored a whopping three goals in under three minutes. Southampton tweeted the tallies:
GOAL: @SouthamptonFC 3-0 @AVFCOfficial (Sadio Mané 16) Incredible. Mané has scored three goals in two minutes. #saintsfc

As Joe Prince-Wright of Pro Soccer Talk noted, that set a Premier League record:
OFFICIAL - In 2 minutes and 56 seconds, Sadio Mane has just scored the fastest hat trick in Premier League history.
