Diego Palacios snubs Barça, moving to MLS
This story has been under the radar amid all the bigger rumors, but Barça looked set to sign Ecuadorian left-back Diego Palacios, who plays for Willem II in Eredivisie and was one of the best players in the U-20 World Cup, in which Ecuador finished third. Palacios was going to join Barça B for a season on a deal very similar to Moussa Wagué, but over the last 48 hours things have changed.
Junior Firpo’s signing pretty much ended Palacios’ hopes of first team promotion ahead of the 2020/21 season, and with a pretty good offer from Los Angeles FC on the table Palacios has decided to play regular first team football in Major League Soccer, according to ESPN.
