The club CEO condemned a section of fans who "violently" attacked Schalke supporters ahead of the match in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has criticized a section of the club's fans who attacked Schalke supporters in violent clashes in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday.
The supporters clashed before the Bavarian side's 3-1 win in the Veltins Arena, with police describing the incident as an "extremely violent attack".
The chief executive reacted swiftly, distancing the club from those who were involved.
"Violence cannot and should never be tolerated," he said in a club statement.
