Cristiano Ronaldo was wrong to steal the headlines by hinting at a Real Madrid exit in the wake of their historic Champions League triumph, says Vicente del Bosque.
As the Blancos toasted a third successive European crown, and a 13th in total, their Portuguese superstar was busy suggesting that a summer move away from the Spanish capital could be on the cards.
Ronaldo’s post-match tease saw him refer to his time with the Blancos in the past tense, before promising more news in “the next few days”.
His comments quickly took the spotlight away from two-goal hero Gareth Bale, who had stepped off the bench to swing a meeting with Liverpool in Madrid’s favour, and win another major honour for manager Zinedine Zidane.
