Spain midfielder Rodri sent a message to Lamine Yamal after scooping the Ballon d’Or at a ceremony in Paris on Monday night.
Yamal picked up the Kopa Trophy - given to the best Under-21 player - and ended up finishing an impressive eighth for the main award.
Yet Rodri thinks it won’t be long until Yamal scoops the biggest individual prize in the sport.
“Lamine Yamal will win the Ballon d’Or very soon. I’m convinced of it. Keep it up, keep working hard, you’ll get there,” he told reporters.
There was huge controversy at the Ballon d’Or, with Rodri claiming top spot ahead of Vinicius Jr, leading Real Madrid to boycott the event.
