The Mexican National team has announced the end of Coach Ricardo Cadena’s time as coach of the U23 National team. With no tournament being played in the future, the federation has decided to go a different direction when the U23 team returns to action in 2027 as the start of the process to qualify to the 2028 Olympic game to be played in Los Angeles. Cadena took the job in 2022 after Gerardo Espinoza’s left the club to take the coaching job at Puebla (which he later couldn’t take the job) and coached the team to the bronze medal in the 2023 Pan American games in Chile and a 6th place spot in the 2024 Maurice Revello Tournament.
