Incoming Liverpool midfielder Naby Keïta has reportedly requested the number eight shirt ahead of his first season in the Premier League.
The number is an iconic one for Liverpool, with club legend Steven Gerrard having sported it until his departure to LA Galaxy in 2015.
Gerrard had some sensational moments in the number eight shirt of Liverpool, which included lifting the Champions League trophy in 2005 and winning the FA Cup in dramatic fashion with a last-minute winner at Wembley the following year.
The '8' shirt has been vacant since Gerrard left the club, but it looks like Naby Keïta could be the man to fill the now-iconic shirt.
