Influential Madrid-b(i)ased paper Diario AS is reporting that Real Madrid are going to appeal Sergio Ramos’ red card, which would ban him from their upcoming La Liga game against Deportivo La Coruña.
The defender was given a straight red in the 77th minute of Los Blancos’ 3-2 loss to Barcelona in El Clasico as he went in two-footed on Lionel Messi.
Ramos insisted that Messi jumped, so he “didn’t even touch” the forward. Real Madrid recognize it as a foul but insist it was never a red.
