Report: Perez calls Real Madrid meeting over Benitez future

A report in a leading Spanish newspaper claims Rafael Benitez's future will be discussed at an emergency meeting Monday.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has called an emergency meeting for Monday afternoon to discuss the future of coach Rafael Benitez, according to Marca.

The Spanish newspaper claims Perez has decided to act following Sunday's pulsating 2-2 draw at Valencia, which left Madrid four points adrift of La Liga leader Atletico Madrid and two behind archrival Barcelona, which also has a game in hand.

According to the report, Perez will turn to Castilla boss, and former Madrid midfielder, Zinedine Zidane if he decides to dispense with Benitez's services.
