MOSCOW (AP) A metal support beam at a stadium being built for the 2018 World Cup in the Russian city of Volgograd has collapsed during construction work, according to state news agency Tass.
The extent of damage to the stadium was not immediately clear.
A spokeswoman for the Stroytransgaz company building the stadium, Maria Rudenko, tells Tass that the beam collapsed under the weight of concrete being poured, but that no one was injured.
An investigation is under way but the incident was ''probably'' the result of metal fatigue, Rudenko says.
It follows two incidents in recent months at the construction site which reportedly left a total of three workers needing treatment for various injuries.
