Red Bulls 2, Fire 2: Bradley Wright-Phillips Scores Late to Give the Red Bulls a Tie

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. — Bradley Wright-Phillips volleyed home a cross from Connor Lade in the 90th minute to give the Red Bulls a 2-2 tie with the Chicago Fire on Sunday night.

The Red Bulls (9-9-5) took an early lead in the 16th minute when Chicago’s Matt Polster scored an own goal as he was attempting to clear away a cross from Mike Grella.

David Accam tied it for the Fire (4-10-6) with a low shot from behind the penalty arc in the 35th minute. Polster made it 2-1 during first-half stoppage time, scoring his first career Major League Soccer goal on a header off a cross from John Goossens.
