The Utah club has landed the South American forward to boost its attacking ranks after trading Alvaro Saborio.
Real Salt Lake has added Juan Manuel "El Burrito" Martinez, a 29-year-old Argentine forward, as a Designated Player.
The club used Targeted Allocation Money to lower Kyle Beckerman's budget charge in order to sign Martinez, who has already enjoyed a standout career with some of the biggest clubs in South American soccer.
Martinez' last club as Argentina's Boca Juniors, where he netted 10 times in 58 appearances for the club. His resume also includes stops at Corinthians and Velez Sarsfield.
