In an unnecessary and ill-conceived decision, the MLS club revoked a reporter's credential, citing a conflict of interest.
Major League Soccer wants to be a Big Time League, but sometimes its teams can't help but show their inferiority complex.
This was very much the case last weekend when Real Salt Lake announced it was revoking the press credential of Salt Lake Tribune columnist and 1280 The Zone radio host Gordon Monson.
"Real Salt Lake's move to control how The Tribune covers the team by denying news media access to one of our sports columnists is unacceptable," Tribune editor Terry Orme said.
