UEFA have officially opened disciplinary proceedings against Dani Carvajal following his yellow card for time-wasting in Real Madrid's comfortable 0-6 Champions League win against APOEL Nicosia on Tuesday.
25-year-old Carvajal is likely to take the crown for one of the most deliberate-looking bookings ever seen in football, such was his unconvincing delayed throw-in during stoppage time which saw him take over 20 seconds to contemplate.
The yellow card has triggered an automatic one-match ban for the defender - as he's now picked up three in the competition - which will be served in Madrid's final group game against Borussia Dortmund, allowing Carvajal to return for the knockout stages of the competition.
