MILAN — Another early goal. Another frenzied rally. Another grueling extra time. More late drama.
Two years after Real Madrid beat Atlético Madrid in the Champions League final in Lisbon, the crosstown rivals staged a reprise here on Saturday that featured many of the same ingredients and — in the end — the same result.
Real Madrid won again, beating Atlético in a penalty shootout, 5-3, after extra time ended with the teams still tied at 1-1. A penalty kick from Cristiano Ronaldo secured the victory for Real Madrid, which won its second European title in the past three years and its record 11th over all.
