RC Celta has completed the signing of Mexican defender Nestor Araujo on a five-year deal, the Spanish club announced via Twitter on Thursday.
Celta did not confirm further details of the deal, but the center-back will reunite with another familiar face to Mexican fútbol, coach Antonio “Turco” Mohamed.
Araujo arrives to the club after clinching the 2018 Liga MX Clausura title with Santos Laguna and unfortunately missing out on attending the 2018 World Cup with Mexico because of injury.
Araujo has represented the senior Mexico national team on 27 occasions and is a gold-medalist with the Mexico U-23 team.
