Rais Mbolhi set to return as Union starting goalkeeper

The Algerian international only returned to Philadelphia yesterday, and two injuries have likely handed him back the starting role he lost a month ago.

One month after it appeared that Rais Mbolhi's Philadelphia Union career was over, he looks set to regain his starting goalkeeper position.

The Algerian international was benched on April 8 after a disastrous start to the season. Mbolhi took time away from the team, but surprisingly returned to training yesterday.

John McCarthy has been Philadelphia's starter while Mbolhi has been away, with last year's first overall draft pick Andre Blake recovering from injury. In the latest twist of a bizarre saga, it appears that both McCarthy and Blake were injured in yesterday's training session.
