Manchester City confirmed Raheem Sterling signed a new five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium on Friday.
According to City's official website, the Englishman will now be tied to the club until 2023 after the renewal.
Sterling's previous deal had been set to expire in June 2020, and there had been rumours Real Madrid were preparing to make a move for him if his City contract talks stalled, per Jonathan Smith of ESPN FC.
Sterling expressed his joy at the new deal, saying: "I’m delighted to sign. My development here has been incredible.
