Luis Quiñones’s well-taken strike against his former team earned Tigres UANL their first regular season victory at the Estadio Nemesio Diez in more than five years as the Felinos notched a 1-0 win over Toluca.
Quiñones played on loan for approximately a year with the Diablos Rojos but was sent back to Tigres at the start of the 2019 Liga MX Clausura.
Quiñones eventually made Toluca pay shortly before the break, hitting a one-time shot into the bottom corner of the net to grab his team the lead.
In the subsequent celebration, Quiñones took off his jersey and ran energetically towards the front of the Toluca owners and executives, signaling his displeasure for the way he was ousted from the team.
