The San Jose Earthquakes striker is set to be sidelined until next summer after undergoing major knee surgery.
San Jose Earthquakes striker Quincy Amarikwa is expected to miss at least nine months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee, the club announced Thursday.
The 28-year-old, who recorded three goals and three assists in 23 matches this season, suffered the injury in the early stages of a 2-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday at Avaya Stadium.
Amarikwa has compiled 24 goals and 17 assists while making 89 appearances over eight MLS seasons with San Jose, the Colorado Rapids, Toronto FC and the Chicago Fire.
