Pumas started their Clausura 2025 with a win over Necaxa by a 2-1 score. It was a tough victory in which they traded possession but a quick span in the first half led to two goals for Pumas to get a victory after holding on to a late surge from the visiting side. Pumas will have to travel on Sunday to face Queretaro while Necaxa will make their home debut against Chivas.
The first half started with Pumas coming out with Pablo Lara making his debut as new goalkeeper, Alex Padilla, had just arrived in Mexico this week.
