Mexico made easy work of Puerto Rico on Wednesday night in the opening match of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in a 6-0 victory from Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
Striker Maribel Dominguez recorded a hat trick in the victory as she out-shot Puerto Rico by herself, 8-6. Mexico attempted 25 shots on Puerto Rico's goal as they simply overwhelmed their opponents. For the 37-year-old Dominguez, it was a reminder to the rest of CONCACAF that she can still play with the best of them.
She opened the scoring in the 18th minute after going through the heart of the Puerto Rican defense and playing a nice one-two with Desiree Monsivais as NBC Sports Soccer showed:
Sweet goal from legend Maribel Dominguez.
