Paris Saint-Germain offered 85 million euros and Adrien Rabiot in exchange for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitiu0107, according to Onda Cero. “The negotiations between Barça and PSG were very intense these summer,” writes Alfredo Martínez on his Twitter. “The French doubled Rakitiu0107’s salary.”
Barcelona were, at the same time, pursuing Adrien Rabiot. Apparently, his signing was valued at 40 million euro. PSG would then pay an additional 85 million to match the Croatian’s release clause, which is 125 million. But in the end, the report says that Rakitiu0107 himself decided to stay.
The Croatian had hinted he wanted a bump in his salary, but recently, he’s been told publicly by Barcelona club president Josep Maria Bartomeu that it would not happen this year.
