Another year, another record-breaking summer transfer window for the Barclays Premier League.
According to BBC.com, financial analysts at Deloitte reported that this summer's spending spree of £870 million shattered last year's £835 million mark.
"This summer has seen another record level of transfer spending, as Premier League clubs continue to use increases in their revenue to invest in playing talent," Deloitte's Alex Thorpe said, per BBC.
Thorpe added that calendar-year spending—which takes into account the summer and January transfer periods—has topped the £1 billion mark for the first time in league history.
