Postecoglou confident Cahill can make Socceroos impact

The veteran striker has barely played since the start of February but that isn't a worry for Australia's national team boss

Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou is confident all-time leading goal-scorer Tim Cahill can make an impact in Australia's upcoming World Cup qualifiers despite limited game time with Melbourne City.

Cahill was named in Postecoglou's final 23-man squad on Tuesday ahead of this month's crucial games against Iraq and United Arab Emirates.

The 37-year-old forward has started one game for City since the start of February for a total of 49 minutes, with the A-League's split round meaning Cahill had last weekend off.
