Coming into the 33rd week of the MLS season, the Montreal Impact had an easy way into the postseason – Orlando City failing to get three points against New York City FC. Or it could potentially do it the hard way – going on the road and beating the New England Revolution.
As it turned out, the Impact decided to do it the extra-hard way.
With Orlando City’s win making three points a requirement to clinch a playoff spot Saturday, the Impact struggled to control the game against the Revolution yet snatched the victory anyway, thanks to a brilliant Ignacio Piatti second-half strike.
