The 31-year-old midfielder joins after the MLS side on a two-year contract.
The Philadelphia Union have signed Bosnia and Herzegovina international Haris Medunjanin, the MLS team announced Tuesday.
The Union used targeted allocation money to complete the two-year deal, which has an option for a third.
“We are extremely happy to add a player of Haris’ caliber. Having played at the highest levels of our game, he brings both quality and experience to our midfield,” Philadelphia Union sporting director Earnie Stewart said in a press release. “We’re anxious for Haris to join our group as we continue to prepare for the start of the season.
