Philadelphia parts ways with goalkeeper Mbolhi

The Union closed the book on their disastrous relationship with the Algerian goalkeeper, who has been exiled from the team since April.

The Rais Mbolhi era in Philadelphia has officially come to a close.

The Union announced Monday that they have mutually terminated their contract with Mbolhi, ending his highly unsuccessful stay in Major League Soccer.

The Union signed the Algerian goalkeeper after a successful World Cup run last summer, but his time in Philadelphia proved disastrous, with major errors an issue during his brief time in MLS.

Overall, Mbolhi started nine games over two seasons for the Union, compiling a 1-4-4 record.
