VANCOUVER – When he arrived in the offseason, there was a mixed reaction among Vancouver Whitecaps supporters to Blas Perez becoming a member of the Blue and White.
As an FC Dallas player, the Panamanian striker tormented the Whitecaps with his battling displays and creative levels of gamesmanship – much of which drew the ire of the Vancouver faithful. In order for the most cynical of ‘Caps fan to be convinced that the addition of Perez was a good move, it likely required a moment of heroism from the Central American forward in a key situation.
