Portugal defender Pepe revealed he desired to win Sunday's UEFA Euro 2016 final for Cristiano Ronaldo after the forward was stretchered off with a knee injury in the first half of the showpiece against France.
Per the MailOnline's Rob Draper, Pepe said:
When Cristiano said he couldn't go on, I tried to tell my team-mates that we had to win it for him, that we were going to fight for him.
It was tough because we lost our main man and we had all our hopes in him. He's a player who can score at any minute.
