Real Madrid have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich after the club confirmed Pepe has fractured two of his ribs.
Goal reported the experienced defender sustained the injuries during the La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid on Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
A club statement said: "After the examinations carried out today on Pepe at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with fractures in seventh and eighth ribs on the left side.
