Paris Saint-Germain’s board of directors is “very confident” that the club is in pole position to acquire the services of Barcelona captain Lionel Messi on a free transfer this summer, according to a report from Brazilian journalist Marcelo Bechler.
Bechler’s sources have told him that PSG’s chiefs are “convinced” they have the best sporting project to offer Messi, and the salary they can pay the Argentine is far superior than that of Barcelona’s or any other club.
Also according to Bechler, PSG’s players were “relieved” that Barça weren’t able to make the comeback in the Champions League on Wednesday, and one player allegedly said in the dressing room after the game, “This is the last time he came to this stadium as our opponent”.
