Ambroise Oyongo has been a big headache for the Impact, which makes one wonder why they traded for him at all, considering what they had to give up, writes Nick Sabetti.
MONTREAL — If Ambroise Oyongo could have had things his way, he wouldn’t be in MLS and he wouldn’t be with the Montreal Impact. He is instead quite candid about the fact that he would much rather be in Europe.
And as a 23-year-old defender who started at left fullback for Cameroon at this year’s African Cup of Nations, playing in Europe isn’t exactly some faraway fancy: he expects to be there very soon; if given the chance, he would probably be there right now.
