Barcelona’s key summer signing Ousmane Dembélé is up for the 2017 Golden Boy award. The award is given out by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport and is given annually to Europe’s best footballer in a calendar year under the age of 21.
Tuttosport have some of the largest newspapers in Europe vote on the award, including Marca and Mundo Deportivo in Spain. This is the 15th iteration of the award that was founded in 2003. The last and only Barcelona player to win the award was Lionel Messi in 2005.
