Oswaldo Alanís Signs With Segunda Division Club Real Oviedo

Oswaldo Alanis’ nightmare summer is finally over. Spanish second division side Real Oviedo announced on Tuesday the defender had signed with the club for two seasons.

After not lining up with Getafe’s plans for this season, the Mexican international was released from his contract (just three months after signing over from Chivas) and forced to find work elsewhere. MLS came calling, Chivas came calling, but Alanis’ intentions were always to remain in Europe.

The team to take a chance on him would come in the form of Real Oviedo, who have not been a part of Spain’s first division since 2001.
