After an embarrassing loss to Chile, Mexico's manager and several players apologized to the Mexican fans, saying their performance was far from good enough.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio and his players apologized to Mexican fans after a humiliating 7-0 Copa America Centenario defeat to Chile.
After going into the halftime break down 2-0, Mexico was helpless to stop Eduardo Vargas and Edson Puch adding to their goal totals. Alexis Sanchez also scored in the second half, as Chile cruised into a semifinal against Colombia.
"I'd like to give my most sincere apologies to the Mexican fans, to all the Mexican people," Osorio said in the news conference after the match.
