Orlando City's Kevin Molino out for season after ACL tear

The midfielder was injured early in a friendly against a Brazilian club.

Orlando City SC midfielder Kevin Molino had started each of the team's eight matches but will miss the rest of the year after tearing his right ACL, the club announced Sunday.

Molino had starred for the club at the USL level, winning the 2014 league MVP award after leading the league in scoring with 20 goals. He was the first player the Lions signed as they built their roster for their innagural MLS season.

The 24-year-old was substituted in the 18th minute of Saturday's friendly against Brazilian club Ponte Preta. The teams were meeting during Orlando City's MLS bye week.
