The El Salvador international moves to San Jose, which ships the more attack-minded Argentina to Florida.
Orlando City has traded midfielder Darwin Ceren to the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for attacking midfielder Matias Perez Garcia.
García, 31, joins Orlando City after three seasons in San Jose. The Argentine playmaker was the third designated player in Earthquakes' history.
“Our club is very excited about bringing Matias into our camp. He has played at a very high level and has demonstrated his skill since joining MLS,” Orlando City head coach Jason Kreis said in a club release.
