'Optimistic' Benjamin Mendy Eyes Manchester Derby as Perfect Game to Return From Knee Injury

Benjamin Mendy has revealed that he is 'optimistic' of returning to the Manchester City first-team fold in the next month after a knee injury lay-off.

The left-back has been sidelined since September when he ruptured his knee ligaments in a clash with Crystal Palace and had been expected to miss most of the season.

However, Mendy told City's official website that he could see the light at the end of the tunnel in his rehabilitation programme, and even hinted that he could be back in time for the match with bitter city rivals Manchester United.
