Sporting Kansas City were entering 2018 with a lot of expiring contracts. Two of those contracts have now been officially extended out for at least a couple of years. Initially Ives Galarcep reported the extension for Ike Opara but now Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star has confirmed some of the details for Opara and added that Tim Melia has a new contract as well.
