Sunderland have completed the signing of Sweden international Ola Toivonen from Rennes on a season-long loan.
The Black Cats announced the signing of the 29-year-old via their official Twitter feed on Friday with an accompanying image of him with the club’s jersey:

Manager Dick Advocaat has worked with Toivonen previously and told the club’s official website he was happy to get the midfielder on board: "I worked with Ola at PSV so I know him well.
