Despite strong rumors suggesting Mexico national team goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was on the verge of signing for Serie A’s Napoli, negotiations have come to a standstill. According to calciomercato.it, Napoli’s €500,000 loan offer wasn’t enough to please Standard Liege’s asking price and a deal is now potentially off.
Allegedly, Standard Liege would be okay with letting Ochoa go on loan. The problem is the Belgian side would like to receive more money and make the option buy automatic after the one-year loan is finished.
Previously, it was rumored that Standard Liege were waiting on their UEFA Champions League Playoff series with Ajax to come to an end before parting ways with Ochoa.
