After finding success in a 3-1 victory Sunday, the Sounders formidable front line could grow even stronger with time.
Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey showed why they make up one of the league's most feared forward pairings, with Martins scoring twice and Dempsey getting the other in the Seattle Sounders 3-1 win Sunday against New York City FC.
“You have two world-class players and when you give them some time and space, they’re going to put the ball away," NYCFC goalkeeper Josh Saunders told reporters after the match. "It’s rough," he continued. And while Martins and Dempsey already are making things rough on their opponents, it's possible the partnership will keep improving.
