The CSL side were said to be willing to offer the United star up to £700,000-a-week earlier in the year but have now cooled their interest
Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande have ruled out the possibility of any new signings in the summer transfer window, ending the speculation linking them with a move for Wayne Rooney.
The Manchester United forward was reported to be a target for the cash-rich CLS outfit earlier in the year, only for the 31-year-old to see out the remainder of the campaign at Old Trafford.
Rooney started just 15 Premier League games for United last season, scoring five goals.
