If MLS owners add a roster position for another designated player, the LA Galaxy would consider taking advantage of the rule change.
CARSON, Calif. — The LA Galaxy's designated player spots are full with the arrival of former Liverpool star Steven Gerrard, but the club would strongly consider making use of a MLS Core Player spot were it added, team officials said Tuesday.
Goal USA reported June 30 that the league is discussing adding a Core Player slot, and owners could ratify a change as soon as sometime this summer to add a roster position that would function as a fourth designated player slot for teams.
