Newcastle Reportedly Close to Loan Agreement with Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge

According to George Caulkin and Paul Joyce of The Times, the Magpies are confident they can do a deal that would see the striker arrive for the remainder of the season.

"Newcastle will have to pay a loan fee of about £1.5 million and cover the player’s wages of about £120,000-a-week for the remainder of the season."

Caulkin provided further context on Twitter, noting Newcastle are set to miss out on Feyenoord sharpshooter Nicolai Jorgensen:

For Sturridge, a move away from Anfield appears to be on the cards before Wednesday's transfer deadline passes.
