The Canadians dominated early, but a tough Dutch side fought back to earn a point at Olympic Stadium.
Canada and the Netherlands played to a 1-1 draw on the final match day of Group A at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. Ashley Lawrence and Kirsten van de Ven scored on either side of halftime as the two sides played a physical, straight-forward match in front of 45,420 in Montreal.
Lawrence broke the deadlock in the 10th minute after pouncing on a blocked Sophie Schmidt effort inside the area. The 20-year-old made no mistake with her shot, side-footing underneath a sprawling Dutch goalkeeper to give Canada a deserved early lead.
