An under-11 girls soccer team from Omaha, Nebraska have all cut their hair short after they were recently disqualified from a tournament in Springfield, Nebraska, because team-mate Mili Hernandez was listed on their roster as a boy.
According to ESPN's Elizabeth Merrill, the Azzurri Cachorros Chicas "grabbed some scissors after practice Thursday night and engaged in a group haircut," following the controversy.
Merrill added that initial reports about the disqualification said organisers had thought eight-year-old Mili looked like a boy as she has a short haircut.
