More than 44,000 Mexico fans travelled to Russia to cheer on their team

It’s no secret that the Mexico National team is among the most supported teams in the world. In fact, for the last two World Cups, El Tri fans have arguably been some of the best, and in the case of Russia 2018, all three of their Group Stage games were essentially home games.

According to Spanish newspaper El País, it is estimated that around 44,000 Mexicans traveled to Russia to support their team, with thousands more coming from the United States. This makes Mexico the second most supported team in this World Cup after the hosts Russia.
